ALUMNI FAMILY GET TOGETHER
In the world, where family relationships are reducing day by day, St. Gregorious Alumni Trivandrum Chapter has conducted the 3rd annual family get-together.
The venue of the meeting was the Y.M.C.A hall and was conducted on 26-01-2013. The main attraction of the meeting was the Guruvandanam. A lot of great personalities who have carved out from the college attended the meeting.
The event started at 4:30 pm with a prayer by Ms. Akshara. Alex P. Kaleezhikam, a active member of the Alumni association delivered the welcome speech, followed by the presidential address by Mathew P.Babu.
The annual report was presented by Benny,the alumni secretary.
The inauguration was conducted by Dr. John Onakkur Sir who is a famous writer,thinker and social worker. His inaugural address contained some of the merits and demerits of modern technology and the ceasing of family relationships.
The Guruvandanam was formally inaugurated by Dr.K.M. Francis who is presently serving as the principal of Mar Ivanious college, Kottarakara
Felicitations were given to former teachers of various institutions. They were Sri .N.Rajendran, Sri. Desmond Fernandez and Sri. B.Unnikrishnan.
Megha Rao was felicitated for making her debut in the world of English literature through her book "Alice in Netherworld". She gave a short description of the factors that inspired her to write the book and thanked all for their continued support.
Vote of thanks was given by Preetha B.O, a member of the Alumni association.
After the meeting, a lot of cultural programmes were conducted by the kids. Dance by Akshara, Republic message by Vijitha Sam Kurakar, song by Christeena, poem by Neha, duet by Alan and Josh,skit by Ravi
Pillai were the main attractions.
Overall the meeting was a huge success.
