Anime Recommendations for Starters

"Well it's not like the world is full of sunshine and daisies. If society was only shaped by the view that one must be happy-go-lucky all the time, Hollywood wouldn't make tear-jerking movies, would they?" said not by a real life person but an Anime character named Hachiman Hikigaya (Oregairu). This is the beauty of anime, we find truth that we hardly find in real life. Words that cut deep but really touch our hearts. And on the centenary of anime we at the team of Total Infotainment Portal would like to introduce some of you guys and at the same time send some of you down through memory lane, so sit tight and lets reminisce about old times.

Let us start with the classic tale of woe and heart stopper, Naruto, a Japanese anime series created by Masashi Kishimoto was premiered in Japan on TV Tokyo in 2002 and it ran for 220 episodes till its conclusion on February 2007. Its ongoing sequel Naruto: Shippuden is scheduled to end on March 23rd 2017. If you are hesistant to watch anime for you aren't young to watch cartoons, Naruto is the best starter series.

This is the story of a boy, Naruto Uzumaki and his dream to win acceptance from the villagers who have vilified him. The series is set in the world of Ninjas and he carries the spirit of the Nine-tailed fox, a demon which attacked his village and killed his parents.  Each episode shows Naruto's determination and naïve spirit in the journey of becoming the Hokage of the hidden leaf village. He gains their acceptance begrudgingly after he saved them all, even though he had been doing that by holding the Nine-tailed fox at bay. But as they say humans hate what they do not understand.

"And so they fought.
And so they laughed.
Friends.
And before they knew it,
They were inseparable.”

-Misashi Kishimoto

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is the better adaption of Full Metal Alchemist, a series premiered in 2003. It is the true horror of human emotions released from the Pandora's box mushed into fantasy and steam punk. It revolves around the desperation of two young boys Alphonse and Edward who challenged the laws of alchemy in an attempt to get their mother back. But damned themselves by losing the body of one and an arm & leg for the other brother in the process. While at the same time they gained powers so great that they had gained everything but at a great cost. Thrust into a war, they try save all from total annihilation. This is an anime series based on Full Metal Alchemist manga by Hiromu Arakawa produced by Bones.

“A lesson without pain is meaningless. For you cannot gain something without sacrificing something else in return. But once you have recovered it and made it your own... You will gain an irreplaceable Fullmetal heart."

-Edward

Bleach

Bleach is the story of Ichigo Kurosaki, a teen who gets associated with Rukiya, a soul reaper and in time with the soul society. Ichigo's life is completely destroyed by the death of his mother while he blames himself for her death. Just then his world is turned upside down with the introduction of Rukiya Kuchki, a soul reaper. The story then revolves around his mission to save her from execution, just for the crime for transferring her powers to him in a crucial juncture. Bleach is all about friendship and the change that brings into one's life. It tells you how even the most depressed person can be brought back to life. This is based on the manga series of the same name created by Tite Kubo.

Pokémon

Enter the world of Pokémon with poke balls along with Ash. He wants to be the greatest Pokémon trainer in the entire world. This anime has reached to every corner of the world and if you are a beginner, it is better to start from the roots. The Pokémon series, is about a light hearted world with creatures called Pokémon and pointless competitions. But it has definitely created a virtual world for nostalgic fans with numerous iconic characters. The concept was originally got from the Pokémon executive director Satoshi Tajiri's popular pastime insect catching. Pokémon Go, the augmented reality game has become apopular revolutionary game which involves travelling and exercise.
And let's not forget other than one guy everyone else is the same age in this anime.

“This is my grandson. He’s been your rival since you were a baby. …Erm, what is his name again?”

-Professor Oak

Well with that ends the trip down memory lane. do tell me how you felt about it if you're a die hard otaku or even if you're a beginner. On another note on this centenary, we're starting a whole new blog all about Manga, Manhua and Manhwa. The link will be given shortly.
